Fat free dairy, fat free cookies, fat free candy, fat free “100 calorie bags”, fat free chips, fat free peanut butter??, reduced fat this and that, and even fat free shakes and drinks! EVERYONE has heard and “knows” that fat free is the “better” choice, every time. If it doesn’t have fat, than that must mean it’s good for us right? WRONG! Unfortunately that’s what advertisers, most of the food industry, most everyone you and I know, and “get fit quick” type CRASH/CRAP diets want us to believe, and the sad thing is we do!
Did you know that fat is actually NEEDED by the body in order to manufacture important FAT LOSS hormones like testosterone and growth hormones, and to sustain cell metabolism (fat helps you burn fat!). Fats also help lubricate your joints, aid with the absorption of necessary vitamins and minerals, and even help regulate your blood sugar levels. Not to mention so many other vital roles fat plays in the body.
EAT fat, LOSE fat! That’s right, by including this important macro-nutrient in your weight loss balanced nutrition program you will with out a doubt lose more weight (fat). I of course don’t mean eat whatever type of fat you want! Here is a list of several GOOD fats that should be included in a healthy balanced nutrition plan daily.
- organic, raw sprouted dried nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, macadamias, pecans etc.)
- organic raw seeds (sunflower seeds, flax-seeds)
- organic avocados
- oils (virgin olive oils, coconut oil, grape seed oil) not to be confused with vegetable oils which are rancid & unstable
- raw nut butters (peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter)
- animal fats like lard (in moderation, contains lots of saturated fat which is not totally bad for us depending on where it came from, i.e. grass fed ANIMALS)
- REAL raw butter or ghee
- raw, whole dairy products like milk, raw cheese, cream (animal fat)
BE CAREFUL! You don’t want to make the mistake of going into “survival mode” (keeping body fat on) by believing that low calorie and low/no fat crap diets are the way to go. Good fats also satiate your hunger cravings which helps to keep you from over eating. PLEASE make sure that when choosing foods, that you don’t get the good fats and the bad fats confused. You now know the difference!

hello,
please explain to me why saturated animal fat is not good, but very saturated coconut oil is okay?
thank you
Ingrid.
This is very hot info. I think I’ll share it on Digg.

Hello Ingrid & thank you for your comment! Modern day “diet gurus” & others in the food, health & wellness industry have told us that saturated animal fat is bad for us. First you have to consider the source. Depending on where that animal was raised, what it was fed & what it’s overall “farm life” quality was like would be your first concern. If the animal is not quality, then NOTHING from the animal is going to be quality.
Simply put.. any all natural QUALITY saturated fats are actually VERY GOOD FOR YOU! Truthfully, we are all being lied to. Studies have shown that saturated fat has actually not been related to heart disease & certain cancers.
Please subscribe to this blog for updates on future post like the benefits of quality saturated fats. Make it a great day! In good health!
Saturated fats, including animal lard (from animals raised on their own traditional foods, not fed processed grains all the time) is very good for us, and contains vital nutrients like vitamins A, D and K, plus enzymes drawn from the life foods the animals have eaten. Raw, unprocessed coconut oil is good for us because it contains Lauric Acid, which helps, among other things, maintain brain health and a healthy weight.
TRANS fats, which are chemically treated, heated, vegetable oils are bad for us – not saturated fat.

Thank you for your thoughts, Jill C. : ) You’re very right, animal fats are good for us & yield many health benefits! As long as the source is healthy & nutrient packed. This stands true for any product or food. As long as the source of whatever it is you’re eating is clean, REAL, healthy, organic & 100% natural, fats, raw cheese, raw butters, lard, unheated oils (excluding hydrogenated oils), tropical oils, raw creams etc. are wonderful sources of fat!
Thanks for the good information. Foods with trans fats are foods people need to stay away from. I look forward to reading more from you in the future.
Hi Jarrod! Thanks for your support!
