Motivation Through Inspiration – by Jen B.

Inspiration comes in many forms. As I am about to finish my first week of my second month of boot camp (it’s that good!), I noticed something today as I was getting dressed. When I buckled my belt, I needed to buckle it in one hole. My inspiration today was noticing my waistline is a little smaller.

tight_beltAs I mentioned before, I am refusing to hop on the scale and I haven’t been measuring myself (although I probably should at least do that). I have simply been focusing on making it to bootcamp three times a week and making better food choices.

This month has been challenging. I moved into our new home and picked up a new client the weekend before my first day of boot camp. So I have been making an effort to keep up my normal schedule, fit in my new client, unpack, reorganize, show up to boot camp, and make better choices in my diet. In the beginning, it was difficult figuring how I could fit everything in while all of my belongings were in disarray. The first week of class I was tired and sore from the workout, but I stuck it out.

During the third week, a classmate showed up with a plastic air cast on her leg. She had injured her ankle the night before, but decided to show up to boot camp anyway. Instead of focusing on her injury and what she couldn’t do, she came anyway and focused on her strengths. While we did squats, she did curls. I am not sure if she knows it, but she was a huge inspiration to me in my momentary moving/reorganizing my life chaos.

Yesterday morning, as my 5:45 alarm went off. I struggled to get out of bed, I had worked late the night before and didn’t crawl into bed until way after midnight. Then, I thought of the girl who inspired me last week, got dressed, and went to boot camp. Within 15 minutes of walking through the door, I was awake, laughing and motivated to kick off the day.

Changing, to Keep it REAL

I am doing something a little different as I embark on my fitness journey beginning with The North Dallas Boot Camp. This time, instead of obsessing about the calories I consume, fat free this & that, fad diets or the weight I want to lose, I am trying  a new method. I am focusing on Mario’s concept to keep it REAL.

That is focusing on REAL Eating, REAL Movement, REAL Thinking…. REAL Living. With that lesson in mind, while I do want to lose weight, weight loss isn’t going to be my main focus as I begin making positive lifestyle changes. Instead of counting calories going in and out of my body, I’m focusing on being active and simply making better choices when it comes to the food I consume. I also want to have fun, be stronger, achieve better balance, and handle stress better.  I figure if I focus on these, then the weight loss will come.

I am now in my third week of boot camp and I feel fantastic. I already notice that I have more energy, I am sleeping better, and I am feeling as though I stand a little taller. Keeping it REAL is already proving to have its benefits….and just think, my journey has just begun.  The REALity is…. changing to be better is still LIVING your life while ADDING more quality to your body, mind & spirit.

The North Dallas Boot Camp has ONCE AGAIN started off to a ROCKIN new month of fat burning, muscle toning, FEEL GOOD FUN! I want to thank all the new participants of NDBC & of course all the returning veterans for a GREAT first week!

Changing your lifestyle to lose weight should be fun, easy & enjoyable!

Changing your lifestyle to lose weight should be fun, easy & enjoyable!

So why is NDBC different from all the other boot camps around? The creator of NDBC strongly believes that being healthy or becoming healthier should be something that is ENJOYABLE, FUN, HAPPY & SHOULD FEEL GOOD! Let’s throw out all the old rules of counting calories, killing yourself in the gym, 3 sets of this, 20 reps of that, 1 minute rest (BORING!) low-fat this, no-fat that, body fat percentages, fad diets & restricting yourself from the foods that you want, & no good supplements & B.S. food systems that TRULLY do you more harm than good (if you don’t believe me LET’S TALK!)

Here is what’s being said about The North Dallas Boot Camp

I recently posted a few links under “Resources & Favorites” down at the bottom right side of this blog.  I would like to encourage EVERYONE who follows this blog to check out all of the links.

I think one of the best ways to learning & adapting is to practice learning from different sources. Get a feel of what others are saying about the foods that you eat & the lifestyles that we all live. I respect & love what these people have to say & they are helping me educate on how we can all become better! Remember, REAL Eating, REAL Movement, REAL Thinking & REAL Living is one of the best ways to not only LOOK & FEEL your best, but to also improve the health of our life source, MOTHER NATURE!

AS ALWAYS,

In good health,

What Are Food “No No’s?”

“NO NO’S” are usually things that you tell yourself you can’t or shouldn’t have.

There is really never a “NO NO”  in most situations created. Most things can be considered in terms of better. Ask yourself these questions when choosing food items or food combinations. “Is there something BETTER?”  ”How can I make this BETTER?”  ”What is BETER than this?”  “Do I even want to make a BETTER choice?”

I truly believe in “Karma” and think that the more you give positively to others, and pass on positive energy in any form or fashion, the more you will receive back!  What better way to to give AND stay on a healthy track than to register and participate in and ACTIVE fund raiser!

Simple Words Of Encouragement & Motivation

I always do my best to start and end each and every fitness boot camp class with a quote of the day.  I do it to give something positive to all my participants and to hopefully try to get them to understand that being positive about your goals, wants and life, no matter what it is, will help you reach that goal or get you what you want….

What is your Motivation?
