Change This… Instead of That…

Filed Under (Nutrition, Real Living) by Mario on 04-02-2010

Changing to be healthier, sexier, leaner, faster & stronger is pretty easy when you follow basic REAL food tips & general guidelines.  There is a common belief that losing weight & feeling better is hard & that “diets” & no fun restrictions are a must (I thought the same thing when losing my 84 pounds… frankly, losing 84 pounds sucked, hurt, was hard & did not feel good!) Well, I think now, that is pretty unnecessary & a waste of some very useful belief points : )

Just One

My tip… ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE JUST ONE THING & MAKE IT BETTER! Thats it! (This is my challenge for all my boot camp participants.  Can you handle this simple challenge?)  I promise ALL campers that take this challenge… their body, mind & health will be completely different & better at the end of any 4 week NDBC program!  IT’S TRUE!

REAL Ingredients, REAL Results, REALLY Healthy!

REAL energy for REAL health!

REAL energy for REAL health!

I think you should really tune in NOW. This is a big one….. nutritional supplement companies are supposed to do 2 things for us as a consumer. Their purpose (at least what they tell us) & intention is to provide convenient high quality nutritional supplementation, for the busy lifestyle to make losing weight & being healthier easier.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Today, some really cool studies have shown that about 95% of companies that produce these supplements for us, are actually producing a product that can be, & HAS been very dangerous for the human body & it’s health!

Several of these companies are using ingredients (referring to ingredient lists printed on products) that are chemically binded “all natural,” & man made neurotoxins (let me remind you this is not all the products, all companies.)

Losing weight really can be easier, faster, healthier & more importantly, FEEL GOOD; & you have to remember adding in the fun parts : )  Taking nutritional supplements is safe & healthy when taken from NutriHarmonyNutriHarmony is one of the very few companies that I trust as far as providing the best quality ingredients for it’s customers!

  • multi-vitiamans
  • high quality calcium
  • 97% absorption rate with most of the products
  • high quality whey protein for building sexy lean mass
  • high quality energy drink that’s NON-TOXIC called Enfusia
  • digestive supplements for less pain, less toxicity & all around better health
  • an effective lean maximizer

Getting on an efficient & effective NutriHarmony program has proven to help all the people I know who use the products get REALLY healthy results, faster! Lose weight, be healthier, FEEL better & LIVE better with the help of NDBC & enjoying some of the REAL food formula products from Nutriharmony.

Motivation Through Inspiration – by Jen B.

Inspiration comes in many forms. As I am about to finish my first week of my second month of boot camp (it’s that good!), I noticed something today as I was getting dressed. When I buckled my belt, I needed to buckle it in one hole. My inspiration today was noticing my waistline is a little smaller.

tight_beltAs I mentioned before, I am refusing to hop on the scale and I haven’t been measuring myself (although I probably should at least do that). I have simply been focusing on making it to bootcamp three times a week and making better food choices.

This month has been challenging. I moved into our new home and picked up a new client the weekend before my first day of boot camp. So I have been making an effort to keep up my normal schedule, fit in my new client, unpack, reorganize, show up to boot camp, and make better choices in my diet. In the beginning, it was difficult figuring how I could fit everything in while all of my belongings were in disarray. The first week of class I was tired and sore from the workout, but I stuck it out.

During the third week, a classmate showed up with a plastic air cast on her leg. She had injured her ankle the night before, but decided to show up to boot camp anyway. Instead of focusing on her injury and what she couldn’t do, she came anyway and focused on her strengths. While we did squats, she did curls. I am not sure if she knows it, but she was a huge inspiration to me in my momentary moving/reorganizing my life chaos.

Yesterday morning, as my 5:45 alarm went off. I struggled to get out of bed, I had worked late the night before and didn’t crawl into bed until way after midnight. Then, I thought of the girl who inspired me last week, got dressed, and went to boot camp. Within 15 minutes of walking through the door, I was awake, laughing and motivated to kick off the day.

Clean Bites: Local Tomatoes Gone Simply Blue

Filed Under (Real Eating, Real Living, Uncategorized) by JenB on 02-10-2009

Weekends are where I can take my Foodie moments at a leisurely pace. Last Friday, I ventured to Central Market with a focus on CLEAN and/or LOCAL produce.

In my shopping cart, I placed red and yellow tomatoes, along with brussel sprouts and okra-all grown in Texas. Among other items on my list, I chose a raw blue cheese.

Knowing my boyfriend would come home hungry, I made a treat to snack on while we prepared our dinner.

I sliced the red and yellow tomatoes, picked fresh basil from our potted herb garden, drizzled Texas olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Next, I crumbled the raw blue cheese on top sprinkling a touch of sea salt and cracked pepper to finish the dish.

What I liked about the dish was how simple, clean, fresh it was, and my conscience felt good about using mostly local ingrediants. Preparing good food doesn’t have to  be tasking.

Sometimes it is important to keep it simple.  Eating clean & participating in NDBC has really made a difference!  Looking forward to the next boot camp session that will begin next week!  Until next time!  - Jen B.

Changing, to Keep it REAL

I am doing something a little different as I embark on my fitness journey beginning with The North Dallas Boot Camp. This time, instead of obsessing about the calories I consume, fat free this & that, fad diets or the weight I want to lose, I am trying  a new method. I am focusing on Mario’s concept to keep it REAL.

That is focusing on REAL Eating, REAL Movement, REAL Thinking…. REAL Living. With that lesson in mind, while I do want to lose weight, weight loss isn’t going to be my main focus as I begin making positive lifestyle changes. Instead of counting calories going in and out of my body, I’m focusing on being active and simply making better choices when it comes to the food I consume. I also want to have fun, be stronger, achieve better balance, and handle stress better.  I figure if I focus on these, then the weight loss will come.

I am now in my third week of boot camp and I feel fantastic. I already notice that I have more energy, I am sleeping better, and I am feeling as though I stand a little taller. Keeping it REAL is already proving to have its benefits….and just think, my journey has just begun.  The REALity is…. changing to be better is still LIVING your life while ADDING more quality to your body, mind & spirit.

I Want to Work For Full Quiver Farms!

Full Quiver Farms is a local farm that produces quality uspasturized dairy products, REAL farm fresh eggs &

DSCN1679

other quality 100% REAL foods for local Dallas co-ops & other all natural stores here in the DFW area.

When a person is able to speak about an experience & is able to create a feel for what may be, true fun, true passion true “love for the job”, they in a sense “paint you a picture with words” & make you laugh just a little… I usually consider that a pretty cool experience.

In the journey of creating NDBC &  learning SO MANY things in the that time, my experiences have  truly been so.  I could write you a few lines of my Full Quiver Farm experience & tell you all about picking up for the co-op… but I would rather show you a few pictures!  So much easier!  Enjoy!
